Our Story
Tim, founder of Grip Grinder
Built by an athlete who got tired of ripping his hands
I've spent more than a decade doing CrossFit, obstacle races, climbing, and other grip-heavy sports.
Like a lot of athletes, I accepted ripped hands as part of training—until I got tired of missing workouts and dealing with days or weeks of recovery time for something that felt preventable.
The Problem
When I looked for solutions, everything felt wrong. Blade removers were aggressive and felt dangerous. Pumice stones were slow and inconsistent. Sanding bars were tedious to use and wore out quickly. I even tried some pedicure devices, but nothing seemed purpose-built for athletes who rely on their hands.
The Idea
So, like many founder stories, I decided to launch my own. With years of experience developing hardware products for Google, Meta, and PayPal, I created Grip Grinder specifically for athletic hand care.
The goal was never to remove calluses. The goal was to maintain them.
Today
Grip Grinder helps athletes reduce excess callus buildup so they can rip less, train more, and stay ready for the next session.
I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.
